Yousuf Raza Gilani Was Barred From Travelling Abroad. And Int'l Media Finds It Intriguing
Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was barred from travelling abroad for an international conference and it seems as if the international media has found the news rather intriguing.

The ex-PM was travelling to South Korea via Bangkok but was stopped at the Allama Iqbal International Airport due to the ongoing National Accountability Bureau cases for which his name has been placed on the blacklist.

Gilani was not too pleased with the move and said that he had no plans of leaving the country and was going to attend an international conference. The ex-PM added that he had told the NAB judge about his departure.

“My basic human rights have been violated by barring me from travelling, despite the fact that I had informed the NAB judge regarding my World Summit departure,” he said.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto has also criticized the move saying that it is a violation of Gilani’s basic human right.

Although a national news, the international media has found Pakistan barring its former PM from travelling abroad rather intriguing.

Gilani also criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government saying that a Naya Pakistan can not be made by curbing freedom of expression.

“If a former prime minister faces coercion so how would a common man get protection?”
