Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal slammed ex-chief justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar for ‘fooling the nation in the name of dams’.

“Baba-e-Dam should present himself before the nation because he fooled Pakistanis in the name of dams. The PML-N government purchased land for construction of dam for Rs122billion without any donations, while the current government and ex-CJP robbed government officials of their salaries,” Ahsan Iqbal said.

Iqbal said that no contractor will submit their bid unless the government has US$8billion for the construction of dams. He said the PTI and ex-CJP, through their campaigning, could only collect Rs9billion and that too came at a cost of Rs13billion.

Turning guns towards the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Iqbal said that Naya Pakistan promised ‘heaven-like’ country, but instead has pushed Pakistan into hell. “These people came to lower the expenditure, then how did the country lose Rs100billion?”

In a separate interview, PML-N leader Khawaja Asif said that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ‘ego is higher than Himalayas’. He said Khan was putting the blame of PTI’s failures on the PML-N government. “He has told his party members to continue spreading lies until they become the truth,” he said.

Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi criticized the PTI ministers saying that “every day in the National Assembly, the ministers talk inappropriately”. He also said that there was no need to increase gas and electricity prices. Abbasi suggested that NA sessions talking about economy should be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays.
