Shakirullah was arrested in 2001 in Gujrat and was later shifted to Central Jail in Jaipur.

Tensions have soared between Pakistan and India in the wake of the Pulwama Attack, in which 44 Indian soldiers were killed when a van packed with explosives rammed into a convoy carrying para-military officers.

India has leveled baseless allegations against Pakistan without any investigation or evidence, while Indian media has also launched a vicious anti-Pakistan campaign.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan officially responded to India allegations saying that if the neighbouring country had evidence that the attack in Occupied-Kashmir was carried out by elements in Pakistan, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will take action.

Khan also warned that in case of any attack or violence from the Indian side, Pakistan will retaliate and befittingly respond. He also offered to solve the Kashmir issue via dialogue because war was not the solution to the problem.

“If war was the solution, the Kashmir issue would have been solved by now.”
