Some rivalries are eternal. For example, India vs Pakistan, Barcelona vs Real Madrid, Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo, PML-N vs PTI, Karachi vs Lahore, Tea vs Coffee and… Biryani vs Pulao.

When it comes to food, there are not many countries that can beat Pakistanis. Seriously, though, Pakistan has all kinds of tastes and foods and that is what makes the country deliciously diverse.

You will find various ways of cooking one particular food in Pakistan. For instance, you will have Saadi Biryani, Sindhi Biryani, Aalu Wali Biryani and one particular place was even selling Pasta Biryani????? WHAT!

There are also different kinds of Pulao e.g. Mattar Pulao, Vegetable Pulao, Channa Pulao, Tawa Pulao, Chicken Pulao, Mutton Pulao etc

The abundance of variety means people have different tastes and opinions, and we tried to end the Biryani vs Pulao debate once and for all. We tried, really.

Out of a little less than 2500 people who voted on our poll on Twitter, 52% voted for Biryani, while the rest of them voted for Pulao. The competition was really tough, but both fought till the final vote.

On Facebook, however, people seemed less interested but Biryani still managed to bag 56% of the 197 votes.

This was when Biryani was losing on the scorecards and then came Zarrar Khuhro to bat, rising up to the occasion and paving way for a hard-fought Biryani win.

The competition was really, really tough for Mr Khuhro and Team Biryani.

Some refrained from taking sides because it was really a very, very difficult choice to make.

Biryani or Pulao? NAAN.. of the two.

It was really close, but we had to award a winner and we did so with utmost honesty and transparency. Dhandli Ka To Sawal Hi Nahi.

Well done Biryani and Hard Luck Pulao. We will surely have a REMATCH!
