Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Khan Tareen’s son Ali Tareen has stepped foot in the cricket industry. The young politician has won bid to purchase sixth PSL franchise and he is sure about the city he wants to choose.

Responding to a tweet that said the team Ali would like to take to the PSL will be Multan, Ali said that was the plan.

Earlier, he had said that he would like to retain the team from South Punjab, and that is Multan.

Earlier this year, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) terminated the franchise after former owners of the Sultans failed to pay the annual fee of Rs5.2 million.

But it seems as if the City of Saints will be getting another chance, thanks to Ali Tareen.

Social Media has mixed reactions. Some are pleased with the Tareen’s announcement while others question his source of income

Let us start with a suggestion for the team’s name and it’s definitely not a bad one

Here is another suggestion, but with all due respect, none beats the one mentioned above

This user has requested Tareen to choose Faisalabad

‘Congratulations Ali Tareen’

‘Your passion and interest in cricket will bring so many positives in PSL’

People are also questioning Ali’s source of income

‘No questions about source of income or receipts of money, media not shrilling about a JIT to probe the trail of money and NAB not looking into ‘assets beyond means’’

‘Imagine a PMLN or PPP politician throwing out figures for upcoming tender’

That’s too much Eidi and pocket money right there ??
