Only 24 hours after Jose Mourinho was sacked as Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has been appointed the caretaker coach of the club.

Solksjaer has a contract until 2021 with Norwegian club Molde but has been allowed to temporarily take charge of the Red Devils.

A former United player who scored the winning goal in the 1999 UEFA Champions League final, Solskjaer has said the club is in his heart.

“Manchester United is in my heart and it's brilliant to be coming back in this role,” he said.
