New duties on routine use items likely to cause new wave of inflation. Here's the list of new regulatory duties imposed today by govt
Federal government of Pakistan has levied new regulatory duties on daily utility products that may lead to another wave of inflation in the country. Here is a list of the products the prices of which are likely to be affected:

  • A 25 percent regulatory duty on milk and cream products

  • 20 percent regulatory duty on yogurt

  • 10 percent on bicycles

  • 50 percent regulatory duty on cheese

  • 30 percent on honey

  • 40 percent regulatory duty on LCD and LED

  • 5 percent on SIM cards

  • 10 percent regulatory duty on fruits and vegetables

  • 25 percent on imported coconut and dry fruits

  • 25 percent on yeast Suji and vermicelli

  • 45 percent duty on cherries and peaches

  • 20 percent on chocolate, pastries, cakes and biscuits

  • A regulatory duty of Rs 400 on betel leaves

  • 50 percent regulatory duty on perfumes, make-up products and shaving products

  • 40 percent on pineapples and 60 percent regulatory duty on juices

  • 20 percent on ice creams and a 30 percent duty on mineral water

  • 30 percent regulatory duty on cigarettes

  • 30 percent duty on leather products

  • 40 percent duty on shoes

  • 30 percent regulatory duty on electrical products

  • 40 percent regulatory duty on CKD kits
