Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) once again used social media to execute propaganda regarding the Kargzystan incident and disseminate fake news that Pakistani female students were raped and several students were killed during mob violence, said senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy.
While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, Suharwardy said that it is a shameful media policy of the PTI, adding that no one was raped nor any casualties occurred there.
He mentioned that this is not the first time the PTI has bent to extreme lows for political gains. “Earlier, the PTI claimed that their women workers were raped inside jail when they were detained for being involved in May 9 riots; later, the women clarified that nothing such has happened and they were treated well in jail,” he added.
The analyst further said that those who were involved in disseminating fake news regarding the incident should be punished as per the law.
He said that ‘Digital Firewall’ is under construction and probably will be finalized by May 30, which will curb fake news on social media.
While responding to a question about Multan’s Na-148 by-elections, Suharwardy said that PTI founder Imran Khan’s voters have lost faith in him; that’s why the party is losing by-elections. He added that the PTI has lost its popularity and fame in Punjab.
To another question, he said that Imran Khan, along with Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahir-ul-Qadri, hatched a conspiracy against then-prime minister Nawaz Sharif during a meeting held in London. That was the real London plan, he added.
