Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) President Maulana Fazlur Rehman has reportedly expelled Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) leader Mohsin Dawar from the opposition alliance. Fazlur Rehman said that the PTM was not a political party and it wasn’t registered in Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), which is why it could not be a part of the PDM, The Nation reported on Thursday.

Earlier, Fazlur Rehman and Dawar traded barbs in a PDM meeting.

During a discussion about the FATA merger, Maulana Fazlur Rehman reportedly said that it was a “western agenda”. Reacting to this, Dawar said that controversial issues must not be discussed on the platform of PDM, and that the merger took place in accordance with the wishes of the people of the tribal region. Dawar also expressed resentment over exclusion of the initial demand of ‘Truth Commission’ from PDM’s charter.
Fazlur Rehman responded that he was the only person who had stood against the military operation in FATA and FATA merger, but Dawar was standing behind the narrative of the establishment.

Fazlur Rehman also said that even though his MNA was not allowed to hold a rally in Miranshah, PTM held it without any hindrance from state institutions. Dawar in the reply said that First Information Reports (FIR) were registered against many members of PTM. Moreover masharan (Tribal Leaders) were stopped by the authorities at many places.

It was also reported that Fazlur Rehman said that Dawar should not bother to attend the meeting next time.
