All Three, Four Star Hotels In Pakistan To Be Converted Into Quarantine Centres

In the wake of the deadly coronavirus outbreak in Pakistan, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has written to all the provincial governments, seeking to convert all three and four-star hotels into quarantine facilities to cater to the suspected patients of the fatal virus.

Journalist Iftikhar Firdous posted the notification of NDMA on Twitter, under the subject “urgent measures required for mitigation of the impacts from coronavirus.”



The notification forwarded to all the provincial chief secretaries and official health bodies stated that three and four-star hotels may be vacated and converted into quarantine centres. “One person one room policy to be adopted for each traveler or suspected case,” read the notification.

The national toll of confirmed coronavirus cases has risen to 304, with 211 cases in Sindh, 33 in Punjab, 23 Balochistan, and 19 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. There are two officially-confirmed deaths in Pakistan due to the deadly virus.
