Pakistan and India were expected to face each other at ONE Championship’s event in Singapore on Friday, but the fight has been called off because Pakistan’s Ahmed Mujtaba was not granted a visa.

The Pakistan superstar was left gutted and expressed his disappointed for not being granted a visa after working so hard preparing for the fight. The ‘Wolverine’ had spent time travelling and training in Brazil, Thailand and local circuit in Pakistan for preparation of his fight against India’s Rahul Raja.

Hailing from Quetta, Mujtaba was one of the first fighters to represent Pakistan on international stage.

Mujtaba said he felt ‘depressed’ because the fight was called off. “I am depressed and not feeling well, but I have put my trust in Allah and believe that whatever happens is because something bigger and better awaits,” he said.

He continued that the fight will be scheduled in the near future and that it was part of life. Mujtaba thanked his parents, friends, training partners and manager for continuous prayers and support. “I cannot express my feelings. Please keep me in your Duas,” he concluded.

His opponent Rahul Raja also shared via his social media account that the fight will be rescheduled in the near future and that it would surely happen. He too thanked his friends and coaches for continuous support.

Mujtaba is the first Pakistani MMA superstar to win a championship overseas. He held the UGB Featherweight belt before he signed with Asian MMA giant ONE Championship.

The fighter from Quetta, who holds a professional record of 9-2 (2-2 in ONE), will be looking to score a decisive win against Rahul Raja when the two collide.
