The minister added that he would talk to Shaukat Tareen during the cabinet meeting [about his views on the economic situation]. Asad Umar also said that the country's economy headed in the right direction in the past two and a half years and that investment was increasing.
In response to a question, he said that it was up to the PM to decide on the roles of the minsters, adding that the economy made progress during Hafeez Sheikh's time as finance minister. The minister further said that if a minister works well, the PM will get credit and if the performance of a minister is not satisfactory, blame will lie with the PM.
