Due to Asutrialia's recent loss to the Proteas, Pakistan recovered its place as the top-ranked one-day international (ODI) team in the International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings on Sunday.

In the ICC rankings, Pakistan is the top-ranked ODI squad with 3,102 points. The Men in Green have a rating of 115 after 27 games.

India outscored Pakistan by the same 115 points, leaving Pakistan in second place. However, despite having played 41 matches, 14 more than Pakistan, and having more points (4,701) than Pakistan, the Men in Blue were unable to overtake them for first place. It should be remembered that the Green Shirts' lead is quite slight.

After losing against South Africa, Australia, which had held the top spot, is now ranked third overall with 3,166 points and a rating of 113. There have been 28 games for the Kangaroos.

Beginning on September 22, India and Australia will face off in a three-match series where they will once again have the chance to secure the top spot.

The opening game will take place in Mohali. The final match will be contested on July 27 in Baroda, with the second game taking place on July 24 in Indore.

Pakistan will now participate in the World Cup. On October 6 in Hyderabad, they play their opening match of the season against the Netherlands.

It would be intriguing to watch how these countries perform in forthcoming games and the World Cup as they continue to compete for the top spot in ODI cricket. This rating rearrangement highlights the dynamic nature of international cricket.
