Altaf Hussain Ordered Imran Farooq's Murder In UK: ATC

Islamabad anti-terrorism court (ATC) has ruled that Altaf Hussain, the founding leader Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) had issued orders for the murder of a senior leader of his party Dr. Imran Farooq who was stabbed outside his London residence in September 2010.

During the trial of the accused convicts, the Judge Shahrukh Arjumand ruled that it was proved that 'Altaf Hussain had ordered the killing of Imran Farooq'.

The three men who were arrested for the stabbing have been sentenced to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs2 million each.

Shamim Khalid, Syed Mohsin Ali and Moazzam Ali will also pay the slain doctor's family an amount of Re1 million as a part of the punishment.

The judgement states that the governments of Pakistan and the United Kingdom are expected to cooperate in the arrest of the law absconders MQM founder Altaf Hussain, Iftikhar Hussain, Mohammad Anwar and Kashif Kamran and bring them before the court so the deceased doctor can be brought justice as soon as possible.
