Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Asif has questioned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government's decision to provide relief to convicted Indian spy Kulbhushan Jhadav through an ordinance.

In a tweet, the PML-N lawmaker said there was a time when 'patriotism and treason certificates were issued depending on how someone mentioned the Indian spy. But now the laws were being formulated to facilitate the Indian national'.

He also questioned the move to open the Wagah Border at a time when India was committing 'atrocities' in Kashmir.

Accusing Prime Minister Imran Khan of trying to facilitate Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Friday asked the government to explain why Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav was ‘provided relief’ once again.

Addressing a news conference in Sukkur, Bilawal had said the government should explain why it had secretly initiated an illegal and unconstitutional ordinance to facilitate the spy.

He had claimed that instead of tabling a bill in the parliament, the government was trying to introduce an ordinance. Such an ordinance would be illegal and unconstitutional and it would not be acceptable to the people of the country, he had added.

He had said that the government will need to tell people whether or not Jadhav has received the benefit of the ordinance, adding that the government must also explain why the opposition was not taken into confidence regarding the move.
