After a threatening message was issued to Malala Yousafzai by a Twitter account claiming to be former Taliban spokesman, her father Ziauddin Yousafzai has said that he had confirmed through 'reliable sources' that the account was real. He further reiterated Malala's stance. "The key question is how he escaped," he asked.

BBC reported that Ehsanullah Ehsan confirmed in an audio message sent to the news company that it was his account which has now been suspended.

The Twitter account allegedly run by Ehsanullah Ehsan sent a threatening message to 23-year-old human rights activist and Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai on Tuesday.

Focal Person to Prime Minister Dr Arsalan Khalid said in response to Malala's tweet that the account attributed to Ehsanullah Ehsan was fake and that he had informed the authorities and Twitter about it.

Ziauddin Yousafzai replied to this tweet and said, “Thank you for taking notice. We have, however, confirmed from credible sources and we know for sure that it was his real account. And the important question is how did he escape?”

Ehsanullah Ehsan said in an audio message sent to BBC that it was his account.

"The prime minister's focal person tweeted and tried to cover up that it was a fake account. This was not a fake account at all. It was my account that was suspended by the Twitter administration,” he said.
Ehsanullah Ehsan said that these are normal steps but he will soon be available on Twitter with a new account.
