Mayo Hospital Doctors Who Refused To Treat Coronavirus Patients May Face Action

35 doctors at the Mayo Hospital who allegedly refused to treat coronavirus patients have been reported to the Punjab health department by the hospital management which has sought action against them over the refusal. Dawn reported that these doctors are from neurology and the dermatology departments of the hospital. Senior registrars, registrars, medical officers, principal medical officers, postgraduate trainees and house officers are among those who refused to perform duties with the coronavirus patients.

When the number of critical Covid patients rose to 110, they were asked to perform duties at the corona ward.
The hospital administration says that heads of the two departments are responsible for the refusal.
The teaching institute had issued a notification directing them to perform duties when the number of critical patients of Covid-19 at the hospital increased to 110.
Prof Dr Ahsan Nauman heads the neurology department while the dermatology department is led by Prof Dr Tahir Jamil.
