Multiple protests have taken place since the anti-encroachment campaign began last year. The affected have been demanding immediate resettlement from the authorities in light of KCR demolishing that took place back in Ramazan.
According to Geo TV, women who participated in the protest stressed that children, women and the elderly were forced to stay outside in an exorbitant temperature. Since the KCR anti-encroachment drive began, thousands of households have been affected, where the residents have been forced to turn to makeshift beds, relief camps, etc.
The victims are being driven to homelessness while state promises have not borne fruit yet, the fact is these protesters have nowhere to go. Various human rights activists and organisations have taken to Twitter to demand immediate resettlement for those who have been under the ambit of the KCR anti-encroachment campaign.
