The victim, a 37-year-old resident of Vehari, had moved to the provincial capital six months for work, reported Express Tribune. He claimed that he had a relationship with the woman, who also lived in the same area, for the last 18 years.
He claimed that a few days ago, the woman called him to her house where she allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon and tried to chop off his genitals. The man was later locked in a room by the woman, the report added. He said he cried out for help and the neighbours shifted him to hospital.
The police registered a case, recorded statements of witnesses and collected forensic evidence from the crime scene.
In a similar incident, a 25-year-old woman cut off the genitals of a 28-year-old man in Faisalabad. The man had reportedly tried to sexually assault the woman when she was alone at home.
According to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jaranwala Bilal Sulehri quoted by Daily Mail at the time of the incident, the man and the woman knew each other and the man was due to be marrying someone else.

Geo News reported that the woman called her husband, who advised her to call Motorway Police for help until he got there. However, the Motorway Police operator excused from helping the woman, saying the emergency beat had not been assigned to anyone.
As she was left to her own devices on the deserted road, two armed men approached the vehicle and smashed its windows. They then took the woman and her children out of the car and took them into a nearby field after cutting the fence along the road to rape her. The report said the woman was also deprived of Rs100,000, jewelry, and ATM cards.
