Member of National Assembly (MNA) from North Waziristan Mohsin Dawar has said that the Army Public School (APS) attack was criminal negligence on part of the state.

While addressing the National Assembly today, the legislator said that it was criminal negligence on part of the state that terrorists had managed to kill children in the heart of the provincial capital of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa.

Mohsin Dawar, who is also one of the leaders of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement, stated that even greater criminal negligence was the fact that it had been five years and a proper investigation into the APS incident had not been carried out.

He added that parents and relatives of the APS victims had been looking for justice everywhere but to no avail. He reminded the parliament that in May 2018, after constant struggle by relatives of victims, the Supreme Court had ordered that a commission under the supervision of the Peshawar High Court should be formed and a report submitted within two months.

The lawmaker said that the commission did not submit its report timely and in 2018 the SC ordered the high court’s judicial commission to submit its report in six weeks.

Mohsin Dawar lamented the fact that the commission was formed four years after the incident, and when it was formed, it had not submitted its reports.

He said, “Our state has not been able to tell the parents of the children what justice has it given them, what arrests has it made.”

The MNA demanded that the judicial commission should be directed to submit the report as soon as possible and that those responsible for the attack should be held responsible.
