In her first public appearance after her personal videos and photos were leaked and shared, Rabi Pirzada also stated that two people had been arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency’s cybercrime wing for the crime.
In a video shared on Twitter, the singer recited verses of repentance from the Holy Quran. She said that whatever she made (recorded) was done in private and was between her and God.
She added that while she had disobeyed God, those who had shared her videos would be punished both in this life and in the hereafter.

The singer also thanked women who supported her. She also distanced herself from some women, saying that she did not believe in notions of body positivity and autonomy put forth under ‘mera jism meri marzi’ hashtag. She said her body was subject to the wishes of God.
She further emphasised her earlier statement that she would be leaving the entertainment industry, and added that she won’t return after a certain period of laying low as other do.
She also stated that from now onward, she would be performing Sufi kalam and religious-oriented music.
Social media users have commented on the development by saying that Rabi Pirzada is using religion to find an escape in the wake of her leaked videos.

Some have also pointed out that by speaking out against the #merajismmerimarzi, Rabi has ignored the fact that feminists who started this hashtag were the ones supporting her.
