Talking to Naya Daur, Pashteen said that after the merger of FATA in KP the first FIR of these newly merged areas had been filed against PTM which is ‘very astonishing for all of us’.
Earlier this week, a First Information Report (FIR) was registered against eleven members of PTM including its founding leader Ali Wazir in North Wazirstan.
According to the reports, the FIR was registered against PTM activists for ‘inciting people to revolt against the state’ and for protesting and raising slogans against state and security forces.
Manzoor said, “When we ask for our equal rights under the constitution, the state is not ready to provide any, but when we peacefully protest, the constitution is used against us so that we can be stopped from demanding our rights.”
“In Sahiwal incident, the victims’ families were given monetary compensation but in Arman Loni’s case police were not ready to register even the FIR.”
“If the state has registered FIR against PTM leadership for raising slogans against the support for the terrorists, an FIR should also be registered against Pervez Musharraf and Imran Khan because they have stated similar things in the past.”
Last week, the army signaled taking legal action against the leadership of PTM, stating that ‘their time is up’.
Speaking to media, Director General of the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) department of the army, Major General Asif Ghafoor had accused PTM of getting funds from Afghanistan’s spy agency National Directorate of Security (NDS) and India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
