"I received a call from someone from the government, telling me that I should not go ahead with the interview," Dr Danish said while speaking with the host of Web TV Social Media Talk.
I told them that I will go ahead with the interview and, at that, I was told "even if you do so, we will not let it broadcast," the anchor said and added, "and that's what exactly happened."
Dr Danish further said he asked the caller that when the media used to run everything about [PM] Imran Khan, they weren't told then [to not broadcast it].
"I told the caller that we do not pose opposition to anyone, we do so only for the enemies of the country and Islam."
This isn't the first time the media has been told to censor a particular content or stop one of its transmissions. More recently, prior to being shut down, the Channel 24 CEO had said they had been constantly blackmailed and forced to close down their operations.
