Despite the passage of time, no progress has been made, said Tahir’s son Amjad Tahir Dawar who has accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government of turning a blind eye to the matter.
Speaking to Dawn News, Amjad said that “we no longer have any trust in the government”, adding that the family demand an international commission to be constituted to probe the abduction and murder.
He said that Dawar’s family had met Prime Minister Imran Khan at PM House and there the premier had assured them to properly investigate the matter and to form a parliamentary committee also.

Amjad said the government had also told them they would constitute a 5-member JIT over the matter within 3-days, but ‘it has been 3 months’.
He demanded that a neutral committee be made to probe the matter because his father’s abduction and murder included 2 countries (Pakistan and Afghanistan). “We want an independent body to probe the matter,” he said, adding that the family won’t give up until justice is served.
