Prominent cleric Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman on Tuesday announced that all mosques shall be re-opened and the "followers of Islam are most welcome to offer prayers in congregation", openly challenging the regulations of coronavirus lockdown imposed by the state.

All of Pakistan had gone into lock-own by the end of March and to violate the regulations put in place by the government is a punishable by law, but what we see on Twitter is the complete opposite. Hoards of people have emerged to congratulate and support Mufti sahab for his announcement.

Twitter user Mufti Junaid actually thought that Saudi Arabia has banned worship, when the only thing that has been highlighted is to worship from home, and avoid public gatherings because they are the breeding grounds for contagion.
