Women in North Waziristan have reportedly joined a sit-in to seek the release of their male family members allegedly detained by security forces. According to sources, a number of tribal elders have extended support to the women's protest.

Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) leaders on the ground claim that several people were taken into custody following a raid in Muhammadkhel area of North Waziristan after a bomb blast targeted a military convoy on September 15.
