Sindh High Court Judge Asks How People Will Get Haircuts If Barbers Remain Closed
Sindh High Court judge Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar, while hearing a petition seeking re-opening of small businesses, asked that if barber shops remain closed for Eid, "where will people get their haircuts done?" Referring to the lockdown regulations that have been eased Monday, May 11 onward, he said that barbers are still closed.

The orders were issued by the SHC in a petition seeking the reopening of small businesses in the province.

"When small and big markets have been allowed to reopen then why are barbershops closed?” asked Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar.

He also suggested that SOPs be made for the barbershops and if they are not followed then they can be sealed.

To this, the advocate general Sindh told the court that barbershops can be reopened on the advice of medical experts.

“When all markets have been opened the why are barbers shops and beauty parlours cannot be opened?” asked the judge again.

“There are high chances of spread of coronavirus through barbershops and beauty parlours,” said the advocate general. He added that they have been allowed to provide home services.

The Sindh High Court has also advised the provincial government to review its notification on the ban on pillion riding.

Public transport has been shut down, how will people travel now that the lockdown has been eased, asked Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar.

The judge said that decisions should be made sensibly in such grave times.
