Afridi was briefly interrupted when PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah arrived in the parliament, carrying a file. "I thought you'd bring a copy of the Holy Quran today but you have brought a file," the state minister remarked at the arrival of Rana Sanaullah.
“Shehryar Afridi shall take oath on 99 names of Allah & Quran and say If I am lying then Allah may punish me, then justice will be prevailed between me and him (Shehryar Afridi) by Allah” Sanaullah said while rebutting Shehryar Afridi’s claims.
"Don't run away. This government and ministry will not let you run away. We will take this to the end because this matter concerns my generation and my country," the minister said at the floor of the House. He added, “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) did not come into power to target or bully others.”
In July last year, the former Punjab law minister was arrested by the ANF Lahore team for allegedly containing 15kg heroin in his vehicle. A special team of the force had also arrested five others, including the driver and security guards of the PML-N leader.
