New Regulatory Framework To Ensure Royalties For Pakistani Artists

PTI's Senator Faisal Javed Khan has announced that legislation is being prepared to ensure that Pakistani artists get royalty payments and other financial dues for their endeavours. He took to Twitter to explain the reasoning behind the new initiative.

A number of prominent artists in the country responded on Twitter, hailing the proposed legislation as a welcome initiative.

The senator from the ruling party noted that various other countries in the world have regulatory frameworks that ensure artists are paid when their work is re-run, but in Pakistan such a mechanism is lacking.
