This was stated in a progress review meeting chaired by PITB Chairman Azfar Manzoor here on Friday.
According to the latest statistics, the total number of patient visits in OPD has jumped up to 15.6 million, whereas the total patient visits in Emergency Room (ER) is 6.11 million and the total patients admitted in IPD is 73,240.
The number of medicines dispensed in OPD has increased to 82.2 million while it is 6.49 million in ER. In addition, the number of medicines dispensed in IPD amounted to 405,000.
This is the first of its kind efficient system developed and deployed by PITB in local government hospitals, which has reorganised hospital information and management process in to a systemic structure. Through this system, more patients are catered to each day as compared to the previous system which was inefficient and less effective.
The PITB chairman was informed that HIMS has been successfully deployed in 23 districts of Punjab, while five DHQs have been covered in the south region of the province, six DHQs in north region, six DHQs in central region of the province and a total of 10 THQs in 10 districts across the province.
