Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif has been acquitted in the Al-Azizia reference, and soon his nomination papers to contest elections will also be approved.
While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy said that Joint Investigation Team (JIT) head Wajid Zia will face legal action and an FIR will be filed against him for producing a biassed and wrong investigation report against the former prime minister.
He said that the investigator is not a ‘holy cow’; therefore, legal action will be taken against him for sure.
Suharwardy said that the National Crime Agency (NCA) also acquitted Nawaz Sharif and apologized to him. He added that the nation should realize that no one had any evidence against Nawaz and Shahbaz, and bogus cases were filed against them.
The analyst said that Nawaz’s disqualification has not yet been suspended.
He said that the ‘Imran Khan Project’ has concluded, and those who initiated the project are also gone.
While responding to a question, Suharwardy said that former president Asif Ali Zardari and his son Bilawal have a conflict as both want to contest elections as candidates for the slot of prime minister.
The analyst said that Zardari is targeting Imran Khan, whereas Bilawal is targeting Nawaz Sharif in his speeches. He said that Zardari wants to be acceptable to the establishment, but Bilawal is becoming unacceptable to the establishment.
He said that Bilawal is trying to pursue the politics of Bhutto and Benazir, but Zardari is creating hurdles in his way. “The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) doesn’t have candidates to contest elections in Punjab. Similarly, the PML-N doesn’t have candidates to compete with the PPP in Sindh,” he added.
The analyst said that nowadays Altaf Hussain is giving speeches in favor of Imran Khan, adding that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London and the PTI Alliance are visible. Few MQM-L politicians will get PTI tickets to contest the upcoming elections, he revealed.
