The PMLN leader began her speech by thanking the citizens of Lahore for participating in the rally, saying that the crowd at Minar-e-Pakistan has proved their critics wrong. She added that several people could not enter the venue because it was packed to capacity. Talking about the size of crowd, she said that she was informed by the organisers that thousands of chairs have been placed on the ground, but she could not see even a single chair because of the crowd.
She said that Lahore welcomes Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkwa (KP) and Balochistan and the leaders of the PDM from these provinces who have come to Punjab.
Further, the PMLN leader urged the participants of the rally to respect women attendees of the jalsa and ensure their protection.
Media censorship
Maryam Nawaz said that media was being asked to say that the jalsa has failed. "Lahoris and I know where these calls are coming from. But even they know that Lahore has made history today," she said. Maryam further said that the citizens of Lahore have buried the 'fake change' that began from the same venue at Minar-e-Pakistan. She added that PM Imran Khan who kept repeating that he would not give NRO is now asking the opposition to give him NRO. "Should we give him NRO," she asked the crowd.
Covid SOPs enforcement
Maryam also urged the participants to wear mask at the rallies, but added that "Covid-18" is more dangerous than Covid-19. “With this Covid-18, the essential goods for poor and their medicines have been quarantined. Media freedom has also gone in quarantine," she said.
Maryam repeated the term "Tabedaar" (obedient) to refer to PM Imran Khan, saying that every citizen of Pakistan who is facing difficulties amid the rising inflation knows the truth about Imran Khan. "Even the government officiers whose salaries you did not raise have come to know your true face,” she said.
Maryam asked the participants to promise her to join her for a rally in Islamabad when the time comes.
