Many doctors of Pakistani origin have been on the frontline of war against coronavirus in USA and are emerging as heroes in the eyes of their communities for their expertise and dedication.

The other day, Dr Saud Anwar, who lives in Connecticut, USA, was honoured by an array of honking cars holding banners saying: "Thank you for your heroism."

In addition to receiving recognition by community members, a police escort drove by his house to honour him for taking care of Covid-19 patients.

They could not go close to him because of the social distancing requirements, so they all paid tribute from their cars.

Dr Saud Anwar graduated from the Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan. So far, 11 Pakistani doctors have died in the USA while taking care of their patients in various hospitals in the USA.
