Maryam Nawaz Breaks Silence, Says Will Continue Fighting For Civilian Supremacy
Pakistan Muslim League - N (PML-N) vice-president Maryam Nawaz has finally broken her silence and made a public appearance after a long time. She said that she was silenced for the past few months citing 'personal reasons', but her absence did not mean that her resolve had weakened.

She expressed these views while talking to media in Islamabad with PML-N leadership including Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Maryam further said that she was always ready to play her role if the party needed her to be more active in politics.

The PML-N vice president met former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at his residence. According to sources, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif had advised Maryam to get involved in the party affairs and prevent the formation of forward bloc in the party. The emergence of differences within the party has been reported in the media in the past few days.

Maryam also appreciated the PML-N leaders who were imprisoned in corruption cases and said they faced fake cases with dignity.

She also condemned the arrest of Jang-Geo group owner Mir Shakilur Rehman and termed it an attack on media, adding that his arrest cannot stop the truth.
