Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has raised concern over budget as it is the best chance for the party to fulfill its demands from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), including acquiring ministries in Punjab province, said senior analyst Muzamal Suharwardy.

While speaking at a program on Naya Daur TV, Suharwardy said that the PPP is seeking ministries in Punjab and has formed a committee for this purpose to hold talks with the PML-N, but Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is not willing to give any ministry to the PPP.

The analyst said that the PPP will use the budget to get its share in Punjab and the center, adding that after that, it will vote for the budget. He said that Rawalpindi is the guarantor of the deal between the PML-N and PPP; therefore, the PPP will have to vote for the budget 2024–25.

While responding to a question about Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s China visit, the analyst said that several agreements were signed during the visit to expand trade and investment opportunities, but the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) trolls are doing propaganda over it.

He said that a delegation from China will also visit Pakistan next month to finalize the agreements.

While talking about the Economic Survey 2023–24, Suharwardy said that targets were not met during that period, but PM Shehbaz is not responsible for it as his party came into power in March 2024.

He said that the economic survey has revealed the progress of the caretaker government.
