Attack On Polio Team Kills Policeman In Karak

A security officer accompanying a polio team was shot dead in Karak on Tuesday. The slain police officer was identified to be Junaid.

Reports say that the polio team is safe and was unhurt in the attack but the officer providing security to the team embraced martyrdom in the attack.

The investigation into the attack has begun and as per the DPO. However, it is unsure if the attack was a result of personal enmity.

A five-day national polio immunisation drive began from Monday to vaccinate over 40 million children under the age of five across the country. The attack came on second day of the week long polio drive.
