Veteran Pakistani actor Abid Kashmiri has passed away in Lahore, as confirmed by his family on Friday. They reported that he had been suffering from serious health issues related to his kidneys and respiratory system for some time.

Kashmiri had a distinguished career in the entertainment industry, earning acclaim across theatre, television, and film. Known for his versatility, he starred in numerous TV shows and stage productions, as well as films. He gained recognition for his comedic role in the 1988 movie "Bazar-e-Husan," for which he received a Nigar Award.

Some of his notable works include "Lohari Gate," "Suraj ke Sath Sath," "Samundar," "Apnay Log," and "Teesra Kinara." During a recent visit to Pakistan, he made appearances on various television talk shows.

The award-winning actor is survived by two sons and two daughters. He had been living abroad for many years but continued to work in the industry until his health began to decline.
