The Inter-Services Public Relations has announced that three majors of the Pakistan Army have been found guilty of indiscipline and misconduct. The charges against them include abuse of authority and involvement in illegal activities.

The ISPR has stated that the three have been dismissed from service while two of them have been given rigorous imprisonment of two years each.

According to the statement, the charges include misuse of authority and involvement in illegal activities unbecoming of an officer.

However, the ISPR has not elaborated on the exact nature of the charges, and it is yet unknown exactly what crime the three officers had committed.

In August, the Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa had ratified the life sentence of an army officer for misuse of authority. Following the decision, the ISPR had released a statement saying that Pakistan Army had upheld its principles of institutional accountability.

In May, a 14-year jail sentence was given to Lieutenant General Javed Iqbal for espionage while a retired army officer, Brigadier Raja Rizwan, was sentenced to death.
