They seem to be shocked to find out that this Turkish woman can have a life beyond the one character that she played as a part of her job as an actress. The comments under her Instagram posts have been nothing short of abuse, hate speech and moral policing. Men have been chanting 'Astaghfirullah Halima Baji' under her photoshoots as a model.

It's not just the policing of Esra Bilgiç, but apparently, Engin Altan Düzyatan, who plays the character of Ertugrul Ghazi, the father of Osman (Uthman) who founded the Ottoman Empire, was also caught by Pakistani men on his Instagram. His sin was posing with a jolly German Shepherd dog and enjoying his company. Mr Razy on Instagram, did not like it. He said, "How can you have dog indoors when Islam clearly prohibits it?". It does not come as a surprise that preaching Islam does not end within the bounds of Pakistan, but our men would feel entitled to comment on everyone's personal freedom.

After being aired on the state-run Pakistan Television (PTV), TRT Ertugrul by PTV, the serial’s YouTube channel crossed one million subscribers.
PTV dubbed the series in Urdu after Prime Minister Imran Khan visited Turkey last year and was informed about the importance of the series. On April 25, coinciding with the first day of Ramzan, PTV aired the first episode of the popular Turkish TV series that highlights the history of Muslims during the 13th century.
