He added that such measures enhance discipline and urged provincial ministers to fulfil their responsibilities.
“Instead of allocating resources for a very small group, the State should offer Grade 14-16 jobs to the Imams of the mosques. This will put an end to the monopoly of a specific group and also bring discipline. The higher provincial ministers should fulfill their responsibilities in this regard,” he stated in a tweet on Friday.

Earlier, Fawad had stated that it was unwise to spend Rs4 million for moon-sighting and added that he respected clerics but such issues were decided voluntarily.
“I have given my opinion, it’s not necessary that everyone has to agree with me, however, there is no wisdom in spending around Rs4 million,” Fawad said.
He further constituted a five-member committee to finalise exact dates of Ramazan, Eidul Fitr, Eidul Azha and Muharram for the next five years, and announced that the Islamic Lunar calendar would be presented before the cabinet by 15th of Ramazan.
In a separate tweet, the minister also claimed that after Prime Minister Imran Khan’s austerity drive, the salaries of parliamentarians and ministers have been reduced significantly, while entertainment allowances have been completely abolished.
