Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Kashmala Tariq has ordered Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to remove its Director General Human Resources (DG HR) for allegedly sexually harassing women.
The ombudsperson directed PEMRA to not only remove Haji Adam Khan as DG HR but also suspend him till the completion of inquiry against him.
PEMRA, however, has removed the accused as DG HR but has not suspended him in accordance with the orders of Kashmala Tariq. Adam Khan’s presence in PEMRA as an official can influence the inquiry being initiated against him for allegedly sexually harassing a woman colleague.
