According to Reporters Without Borders (RSF), the Indian government took the decision of withholding advertisements in the wake of Pulwama attack that claimed lives of more than 40 Indian troops, accusing these papers of publishing content “glamourising terrorists and anti-national elements”.
The RSF had also condemned the decision, urging the Indian government to restore state ads.
The blank front pages of the newspaper said: “In protests against the unexplained denial of advertisements to Greater Kashmir and Kashmir Reader."
Kashmir Editors Guild (KEG) made the decision of publishing blank front pages along with organising a protest march on Sunday afternoon.
