The arrest has been made under the Anti Terrorism Act by the Lakki Marwat police.
In a speech, the cleric had said that he would kill Malala in a suicide attack if she returns to Pakistan. He had made these remarks in response to Malala’s comments on marriage that she issued in an interview with British fashion magazine Vogue.
