Firdous Ashiq's Act Of Slapping MNA Mandokhel Draws Widespread Criticism

Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan's outburst on set of a TV show wherein she slapped her co-panelist MNA Qadir Mandokhel of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has been widely condemned. A leaked video showing the SACM slapping Mandokhel after exchange of hot words went viral on social media on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, Dr Firdous released a video 'clarifying' that her act was justified because Qadir Mandokhel had provoked her by insulting her family during the discussion. The leaked video from the moment she loses her cool however does not show the insulting remarks allegedly made by Mandokhel.

Social media users including politicians and journalists took to Twitter to condemn the misbehaviour displayed by Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan. Many also questioned as to why the host, Javed Chaudhry, allowed his guest to behave in this manner.
