On May 26, three people were killed while 15 others, including five Pakistan Army personnel, received injuries in the clash in Kharqamar area. A case of the incident was subsequently registered against the party by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Bannu, Dawn reported on Friday.
Alongside other PTM workers and leaders, senior members of the party MNAs Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir had been nominated in the case. The report added that a application was submitted to the an anti-terrorism court in Bannu. It stated that the government wants to withdraw the case, being underway in Abbottabad owing to security reasons.
The application was earlier filed with the district prosecutor and public prosecutor of ATC, Bannu on behalf of the state.
Last month, the PTM accepted an offer by the government to hold talks. The party, however, had asked for building confidence so as to show more sincerity towards a dialogue. Addressing a news conference last month, the PTM chief Manzoor Pashteen had asked the government to take confidence-building measures in order to remove the trust deficit existing on both sides.
