Solangi says that Shehbaz Sharif and Asif Zardari are not in favour of a head on collision with the establishment but Maryam and Bilawal are steering their parties now. Besides, there's no politician in their respective parties who can pull out large crowds so the senior members of their parties hardly have any political clout to make them follow their commands. 'Although Nawaz Sharif can pull crowds but since he's in jail, Maryam is practically the only person in PML-N who can do this', Solangi says.
On a question by Tanzeela Mazhar about the failure of the current opposition to raise a strong movement against the incumbent government while Imran Khan had single-handedly run a marathon campaign against Nawaz Sharif's government in the last tenure, Murtaza Solangi said that it's a myth that Imran Khan ran that campaign alone. He added that there were undeniable proofs available that Imran Khan was being backed by certain forces.
He, however, thinks that while Maulana Fazl ur-Rehman's JUI-F wanted to start a movement against the government right after the elections, Zardari and Shehbaz Sharif were not ready to take the government and the establishment head on at the time. Solangi added that People's Party facilitated PTI government in the prime ministerial and speaker's elections.
It is an excellent discussion, unlike Pakistani political talk shows, where people fight with each other instead of discussing ideas in a decent manner.
