The Punjab government has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court (LHC) against the pre-arrest bail granted to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s nephew Hassan Niazi and seven other lawyers by the trial court in Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) attack case.

The plea was filed through the prosecutor general of Punjab.

“The learned trial court has granted bail to the accused persons in a hasty manner without applying its judicial mind,” the appeal said.

The other accused lawyers include Ali Javed, Naeem Qamar, Abdul Majid, Syed Zain Abbas, Usama Maooz Malik, Abid Hussain and Muzamil.

Earlier the anti-terrorism court (ATC) was informed by the investigation officer that a forensic lab was provided video clips and images of the lawyer’s hooliganism outside the PIC for the test.

On December 11, a dispute between lawyers and young doctors resulted in a violent attack on the PIC when a large number of lawyers stormed the PIC and beat up doctors and patients.
