Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that they would give sacrifices, face bullets and pick up dead bodies of their own but won’t be leaving Islamabad.

In an interview with a television journalist, Maulana Fazlur Rehman stated that if the government was not ready to listen to their demands, they would continue their sit-in and this would result in chaos in the country.

When the JUI-F chief was asked about the government’s claim that it would strictly deal with any attempts to create unrest, he said, “If we were afraid we would not have come here.”

The journalist asked Maulana Fazlur Rehman it they would be attacking law enforcement agencies. In response the JUI-F leader said that they would face bullets, give sacrifices and pick up dead bodies of their own but they won’t go from Islamabad.

Regarding Prime Minister Imran Khan, he added, “I want to clearly state that we have given a deadline that as long as we don’t get freedom from this illegitimate and unjust leader, we won’t accept this government.”

Maulana Fazlur Rehman was also of the view that the prime minister’s statement about his intention to resolve the matter peacefully and with mutual consensus was just an attempt to portray to people a situation of normalcy.

Moreover, the JUI-F chief refused to make a comment when the journalist talked about the involvement of the ‘invisible party’, in a veiled reference to the military establishment.

He added that they would not be moving a no-confidence move as they have had experience of pursuing a a no-confidence motion in the senate.

The JUI-F chief also implied that the opposition was left with limited options and the path he has chosen was not an easy one.
