Bahria Town's Guards Booked For Rioting, Kidnapping After Social Media Outrage
Sindh police have reportedly registered a case against the administration of Bahria Town Karachi (BTK) on charges of rioting, kidnapping and injuring people.

The move comes in the wake of social media outrage against the Bahria Town's management's use of force against villagers during eviction. Pakistan People's Party (PPP)'s top leadership is said to have intervened in the matter after which the action was taken.

On Friday, Bahria Town resorted to attacking villagers in Malir in an attempt to occupy their land. It was reported that Bahria Town officials opened ‘straight fire’ on the villagers due to which two of them were injured.

This resulted in social media backlash against Bahria Town as well as provincial government which was accused of inaction. Twitterati used the hashtag #SayNoToBahriaTown to denounce the company's action against villagers.
