Punjab’s Primary and Secondary Healthcare department issued a notification on Sunday night, allowing bakeries and milk shops to now operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week “subject to adoption of standard operating procedures (SOPs)/guidelines”.
The government also allowed chicken and meat shops to operate from 9am to 7pm throughout the week.
The fatal coronavirus has claimed 2,067 lives in Pakistan, including 65 deaths in last 24 hours, while 34,355 patients have recovered successfully and have been discharged from the hospitals. Moreover, as many as 1,382 infected patients are currently in critical condition across the country.
The national tally of confirmed coronavirus cases has risen to 103, 671, including 4,728 cases in last 24 hours. The provincial governments of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan have confirmed 38,903, 38,108, 13,487, 6,516 cases respectively. Meanwhile, 932 cases in Gilgit-Baltistan, 5,329 in Islamabad, and 396 in Kashmir have been reported to date.
